I dont think anyone does..... but does anyone make reproduction tail lights for the 79-82 cars?

No, but Rare Spares Australia has the ingredient parts from the 1979-1982 ZF Fairlane
Hint. 1979 to 1982 FC Ford LTD and 1985-1987 XF Falcon
That 'reciprocal Trade Agreement" doesn't make up for the Ford Fairlane "robot hiccup" that consumed four 79-82 Mustang tail lights to make this....
The lenses are the same, just more units to suit the extra 4 inches of width.
They don't produce it as such but there is enough volume to make the whole unit if required.

They did at one time. I have a set still wrapped up in my garage. I don't remember what company I bought it from. I'll look at them when I get home and see if I left receipt in the box.
I'm picking up two 1979 mustang this evening and both have perfect tail lights other than the painted part is faided which is no big deal. The tail lights on my 79 pace car are in very good condition also. I had to glue a reverse light lenses back on years ago but other than that they are still very solid. I'd just like a "new" set just to have.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I did ck and did not have the invoice or anything that showed were I got it from. Like you, I bought them just to have...
To my knowledge no one is reproducing the 79-82 tail lights at this time. A company did make aftermarket crash parts years ago, but have been discontinued for awhile now. Call Dennis Carpenter mustang to see if they have any plans to reproduce them.

True that no one is making them as repro, but the other multiple links werent copied over on my original post, and some later parts are being reproduced.
New old stock part numbers exist for two types of tail-light assembleys, with pictures of the order numbers and part references, although they don't tell you what the amber turn signal verses standard red signal part number difference is. The red and amber arent stamped on mine. The frosted white has an SAE stamp.
The plastic visual parts were made as modular units as were the Fox Fairmont and Zephyr tail lights.
So the 4 years of 20000 cars per year Australian market Fairlane line used the parts too. 80000 units isnt much, but the key is that 79 Mustang and Australian Fairlane shared the plastic lenses, exactly the same. The backing pannel is an easy creation...I could make them in New Zealand with a 3D printer or RIM plant.

The part assembley numbers and references in the original posters post #1.
Try D9ZB-13449-AE or E1ZZ-13451-A for 1979 to 1982s.

Another odd taillight question...did anyone ever reproduce the "wide" taillights from the 79 Mustang Cabriolet show-circuit car made by Ford?
No, the units for those were custom. Just added two extra brake lights each side. The whole Fox program had a modular paer system. The Fox sedans an Box tops and Sport Coupes had about 9 modular units a side, so creating a custom tail light assembly was easy. Still is today if you can get the individual parts.

Hi,
Where would I go looking for amber tail-light lenses? There are some DOT issues in Europe.
As far as I understand, getting amber lenses from a Fairlane and cutting them in would do the trick? Any other sources for those lenses?
Yes, Ford made a specific run of different color lenses from 79 to 80, so there is another different color amber, but you have to track the New Old Stock number. It's the JPN spec DSO for rear lights for 1981. I don't know how to get that information from Ford. This is a query for Fox Chassis to make, and have paid information to be gathered from Marty. The export lights were also used on some Spanish Ford Mustangs for 1981. Ford could do that without and engineering number change.
Australia is still your best bet in the meantime until the information from the American color changes are available.
