No, but Rare Spares Australia has the ingredient parts from the 1979-1982 ZF Fairlane

Hint. 1979 to 1982 FC Ford LTD and 1985-1987 XF Falcon

That 'reciprocal Trade Agreement" doesn't make up for the Ford Fairlane "robot hiccup" that consumed four 79-82 Mustang tail lights to make this....

The lenses are the same, just more units to suit the extra 4 inches of width.

They don't produce it as such but there is enough volume to make the whole unit if required.

They did at one time. I have a set still wrapped up in my garage. I don't remember what company I bought it from. I'll look at them when I get home and see if I left receipt in the box.

I'm picking up two 1979 mustang this evening and both have perfect tail lights other than the painted part is faided which is no big deal. The tail lights on my 79 pace car are in very good condition also. I had to glue a reverse light lenses back on years ago but other than that they are still very solid. I'd just like a "new" set just to have.

To my knowledge no one is reproducing the 79-82 tail lights at this time. A company did make aftermarket crash parts years ago, but have been discontinued for awhile now. Call Dennis Carpenter mustang to see if they have any plans to reproduce them.

True that no one is making them as repro, but the other multiple links werent copied over on my original post, and some later parts are being reproduced.

New old stock part numbers exist for two types of tail-light assembleys, with pictures of the order numbers and part references, although they don't tell you what the amber turn signal verses standard red signal part number difference is. The red and amber arent stamped on mine. The frosted white has an SAE stamp.

The plastic visual parts were made as modular units as were the Fox Fairmont and Zephyr tail lights.

So the 4 years of 20000 cars per year Australian market Fairlane line used the parts too. 80000 units isnt much, but the key is that 79 Mustang and Australian Fairlane shared the plastic lenses, exactly the same. The backing pannel is an easy creation...I could make them in New Zealand with a 3D printer or RIM plant.

The part assembley numbers and references in the original posters post #1.

    Try D9ZB-13449-AE or E1ZZ-13451-A for 1979 to 1982s.

"Export Only" for Spanish, Japan and some European OEM export markets. They were Cut and Shut conversions, using partd Ford of Australia requested for the Aussie 79 to 82 model year 4.1 six cylinder, and Cleveland V8 4.9/5.8 Ford Fairlanes. You can make them yourself for less than 170 Bucks for two if your smart

Export tailights to the EU countries from about 1978 onwards just needed a unique part number to certify as approved, didnt have to have the EU or BS type standard. Except for England, where they just made things difficult. For England (UK) the, part needed a British Standard or Japanese Industry Standard or TUV/DIN Standard approval stamp cast into the lense.

The type you all have found didn't comply with that....the external lenses have no part number.

The internal FoMoCo # E1ZZ-13451-A wasn't enough for the United Kingdom.

These days in Europe or UK, you can use any Fox Ford tail light and it will still get registered.

Ford UK had to use factory lamps from Capri III or Escort Mark III.

Ford USA made them from Amber for the 1979 to 1982 Australian Ford Fairlane light inserts, same modular plastic part. Ford USA were business focused, constantly allowing shared Bosch and Quad headlamps, door handles, tail lights, wheels and hubs, axles, gearboxes and engines with other divisions world wide, wasn't a big deal to them. So "Export" is a term relative to Ford Dearborn

If you look, the outside has no the part number stamped on the light itself, unlike EU practice, so the E1ZZ-13451-A Part number is a good information. Well done!

Mine are were stock stock SY D9ZB-13449-AE on the black housings, branded LH or RH, with stock D9 ZB-13A495-AB seals with a CAV-21 stamp, and no stampings on the lenses. I'm not sure if the tail light had a special revision number for the Export version, I seriously doubt it. If they did, it would have been revised and tested as a standard UK taillight for the many exported Fox body Mustangs and Australian Ford LTD's they modified.

Another odd taillight question...did anyone ever reproduce the "wide" taillights from the 79 Mustang Cabriolet show-circuit car made by Ford?

No, the units for those were custom. Just added two extra brake lights each side. The whole Fox program had a modular paer system. The Fox sedans an Box tops and Sport Coupes had about 9 modular units a side, so creating a custom tail light assembly was easy. Still is today if you can get the individual parts.

    Hi,
Where would I go looking for amber tail-light lenses? There are some DOT issues in Europe.
As far as I understand, getting amber lenses from a Fairlane and cutting them in would do the trick? Any other sources for those lenses?

Yes, Ford made a specific run of different color lenses from 79 to 80, so there is another different color amber, but you have to track the New Old Stock number. It's the JPN spec DSO for rear lights for 1981. I don't know how to get that information from Ford. This is a query for Fox Chassis to make, and have paid information to be gathered from Marty. The export lights were also used on some Spanish Ford Mustangs for 1981. Ford could do that without and engineering number change.

Australia is still your best bet in the meantime until the information from the American color changes are available.
