    Default Saleen brochure’s

Figured I’d give this Saleen forum some love since it’s been dead. Some pics or original Saleen brochures that I have.

Thanks for posting this stuff. Interesting to see the prices for back in the day. Other thing I noticed that I did not know is that they considered the tachometer as part of the Saleen package. My car does not have the Saleen decal on the tach. Does not look like it was ever there.

85-0001 was used to test all the 86 body panels, and for press content.

Are you asking if the car in the brochure is 85-0001?

Yes. It was used in some of the posters and magazine advertisements. Is this it wearing the 86 body kit?

Not in the color ad. Could be in the B/W ad.

I’d like to start picking up the 85-86 brochures over time. What number was the 86 press car?

There were a few. I'll have to dig out my notes.

From my early 86 Saleen. I don’t have the Ford sticker. Not sure if it had one when it was sold. I have ever shred of paperwork but that. Maybe the dealer removed it and attached this one only ?

Saleen Window sticker for my 85. Says 84, but the car is clearly an 85.

And an original sales sheet signed by Marty Burch of Burch Ford. This is actually from 85-0008. The number was picked by the original owner, a 16 year old girl. Should a future owner of 85-0008 ever find this post, it belongs to your car and I’ll hand it over as it’s parts of this cars history.

I wish I had some of the original paperwork to my Saleen. I am the 4th owner. I traced it to the second owner and got ahold of the guy. Started talking to him about the history and then he asked if he could buy it back. I said sorry but no. It was a car that I wanted since I was 14. After that he was not talkative at all. Almost like I was wasting his time at that point. Before he shut down, he said he had paperwork somewhere on it and possible the name of the original owner. I asked him to contact me if he runs across it. It’s been 10 years now. Never heard from the guy. I do have the saleen brochure though. Guy I bought the car had it. Have the marti report and the letter of authenticity from Saleen. Marti could not locate the window sticker but said I should check back after a while. It’s been 8 or so years now. Maybe I should inquire again.

On a side note, I do have all but the window sticker for my 67 coupe. My mom is the original owner but lost the window sticker through out the years. I have nothing on my dads 79 Pinto wagon that he bought new. When my parents got divorced my mom threw that stuff away. I am so mad about that. She just did it out of pure meanness. Then there is my Tigger car a tangerine 96 GT with the Shinoda stripes. I do have everything for that. I am the second owner. Along with the Saleen, those are all the 4 cars that are near and dear to my heart.

This is so nice to see.

I wish I had any of the literature for my car. It all went MIA with the passing of a previous owner. Some may know of him by his handle, bigwingsaleen, or his name, Gary Alsobrooks. From what I gathered he founded the SVO club.
