Question Can I fix or should I sell

    OK friends need some help.

During tear down of my 85 Coupe I have uncovered more then expected. I knew the floors where bad and was prepared to replace them. But now I have found that the upper frame rail/ apron support shows signs of impact. Is this going to be a problem, can it be fixed? Or should I cut my losses and sell this to a racecar builder and start my search again. Rust and damage repairs are not the best platform to build on.

Hour on a frame machine and you're good. It's a coupe so it would garner extra $$ if restored, IMHO. BTW, these cars are not tanks, it doesn't take much to move, bend or rip the metal.

Pictures of the frame rails at the shock tower will give more information as to how hard the hit was and reparability. Odds are as stated that it's an easy fix on a frame machine. Obviously floors can be a big job, but not generally a deal breaker in my opinion. Coupes that haven't been all stripped out and turned into race cars are becoming more rare and valuable every day. Good Luck!

That is a built in crumple zone. In a wreck that area will crumple and help absorb the impact. All Mustangs have that factory installed crimp.
