    Default Steering Wheel question?

I have an 1982 Capri with factory wheel and column. I wonder if they make a quick release kit for my car. I seen one for 94 and up but not mine. Please any help will be appreciated.

Most likely this is what you need. http://www.grantproducts.com/products/view/222/

I am sure there are other options out there such as NRG. The biggest issue is most either don't notate that 79-mid 83 is a splined steering shaft and mid 83- 04 is the D shaft. Many list 79-04 as the same and others just list 84-04. Good Luck!

My early splined '83 tilt wheel broke and was flipping around. I replaced it the whole steering assembly with one from an '84 D-shaftName: mustang steering 1.jpg

Replacement column from ebay was $60+shipping, the install was easy. Fixed the floppy tilt and got rid of the ugly factory wheel.Name: mustang steering 2.jpg

Once I put the '84 column in I went ahead and put a Grant wheel on it. Don't know if it would have fit on the '83 column or not, I do remember it was splined. The above photo is of the '84 so you can compare. I have a couple more of the '84 column from different angles if you want to see them
