      Default Will 85 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Work in an 86?

      I made the mistake of ordering the 85 fuel tank sending unit for my 86 coupe from Rock Auto.

      Will it work for the 86? There is a tube / line with an intake filter that I'm guessing is the pick up for the mechanical pump.

      Can I just cap that off and connect the wire(s) and get an accurate reading?

      The gauges and sending units use the same 73 ohms to 0 ohms reading, so I don't think there's any reason why it wouldn't work. You could probably just loop a piece of fuel line to seal off the fuel lines on the unit. Good Luck!

      Yep I figured I could just plug the line. The second line is already capped on what is the inside of the tank. Haven't dropped the tank yet and I hope the electrical plug matches up.

      83-86 efi are the same seeing unit.
