    Simple answer Yes.

The Explorer GT 40 heads have terrible springs on them from Ford and most recommend a quality upgrade. Alex Parts has several options. https://www.alexsparts.com/ford-smal...e7-gt40p-gt40/

I have a 2 sets of GT40's on 2 different 302/5.0 engines. I even have a set on a 351W in a truck. Nice stock style heads. Nothing spectacular in regards to power, but definitely an improvement over stock E7's and the earlier heads too. Good Luck!

Yeah to Alex Springs. Very importantly, GT40P heads need a GM 90 degree plug or maybe iron K code knock off 1963-1967 C3 headers to clear the different plug angles. The 7/16 screw in studs and bolt on adjustable rocker gear with guideplates and better pushrods is a good idea.

The the best cleaned up iron GT40Ps flow 212 cfm out of the box, almost the level of the 492 Fuelie-style 350 370-330 hp LT1 heads, GM's most powerful factory small block non turbo 2 valve 5.7 liter ever

That GT40P is as good as the 2V Cleveland 302 and 351 heads which made cars easy 207 and 216 pavement burners.

As the head on the 2001-2002 T3 Tickford Falcon 5.6 liter, a stroker 5.0 Explorer, it made 335 hp net.

Boss 302 and 351 heads flowed 275 cfm. Sooo. Your intake and and carb choice with the right headers and exhaust can make an emissions legal 335 hp with ease. see the gross readings of 354 and 376 hp with the older 221 and 231 @ 50 tho lift roller cams.
