    Default 7.5 rear question

    What is the function of the attached picture, on the different? Is it needed. My RS is a dd .

    I believe it is for NVH and possibly to dampen vibrations?
    I’m going to leave mine off, but I always have it case I need it.
    79 Zephyr, 4.6L 4v/4r70w swap, with team z front and rear suspension, 8.8 and upgraded brakes and coil overs. Running Holley Terminator X Max.

    It's called the dog bone, I believe like massacre said it's for vibration. Some say you dont need it and some say you do. When I re did my 8.8 I took it off. You still want to use the bracket that goes above the pumpkin though. From what I read its For protection.

    The Ford repair manual says to install the kit under vibration troubleshooting. Maybe it was not included on early 7.5 rears.
