    Default removable Hardtop

OK, I have done some research, and I know it was discussed on here and a few other sites some time ago... but seems to need updating... does anyone other then SMOOTHLINE make a removable hardtop for the convertible? Not sure whether SMOOTHLINE is a real company, they seem to have a lot of bad feedback with taking deposits and not delivering product...

Im interested on a few different levels, I would entertain a removable hardtop as an alternative for my vehicle which might from time to time have to stay out of the garage (like this weekend when I was working on the suburban... had to push the stang to the back wall and nose the truck in to get out of the rain) Also, IF no one makes one... I would consider making one myself... in a former life I designed and built production boats (penn yans) , have a pretty good working knowledge of fiberglass, and a few cohorts who are better then I am in design work... It would be an interesting possibility.

So, anyone ever see, hear of, touch and feel or rub up against such a thing?

in the 80's before DAP did vertis in house
seen car haulers every day on the x way with temp tops on Mustangs headed to Cars and Concepts? for the conversion.
The temp tops were removed and prob shipped back to DAP as dunnage to be reused for the next shipment.
Must have been fairly strong and fastened down to take highway speeds on the truck.
1995 Cobra had hardtop option. So did 2 seat T-Birds.
No doubt adds value to the car, at least the cost of the top.

FYI.....I would think using a hardtop might be OK if it's just every now and then. You just don't want to store the car that way as leaving the folded top down all the time can do more harm that good to the top material.
