Marti Report came today. I'm a bit surprised at the low number.

Well I had to step up in tire size from 205/70R14 to 215/7014 because nothing was available in Canada. The original weights were still on the two wheels with the original tires on them. The weights had the "FORD" script on the out side and on the inside it had the Ford oval and script. I've never seen weights like this. I'll update with some photos once the tires are mounted and balanced.

Here are the Ford weights. Pretty neat.

Took off the front wheels to clean before getting the new tires put on. Noticed a green "X" on both wheels.
Took the steel wheels off the rear. The drums have never been removed and still had the drum lock washer still installed. The passenger wheel seal has a good leak. I cleaned it up as good as possible. I will tackle that later in the revival process. The driver's side drum was rusted on really tight. Took over 30 min soaking periodically with WD-40. Sorry no pics of the gooey mess on the passenger side.

Had some time when waiting for my tires to get installed so I finished up priming and painting the black trim on the rear window and drivers side. Turned out great using the same Duplicolor primer and Duplicolor black trim and bumper paint.
Here is a sneak peak on the BFG 215/70R14. I could have went a bit wider on the back and the front was perfect with a finger space between the strut.

RWL's look so good with 16-hole alloys. Tint would look so perfect on that! (The quality type, not that 'purple bubbly' stuff). Would help preserve the interior, and contrast beautifully against the White paint

Inside the drivers door is as clean as the passenger side.
New weatherstripping, run channels and dew wipe installed.
I never got the glove compartment items from the original owner but I got a box full of all the books for 1983. The box still has the postage from 1983 on it.

Peanuts anyone? Time for valve cover gaskets. Fel-Pro permadry to the rescue!
Driver's side been leaking for a while. Original cork gasket came out in one piece!
Carefully cleaned and preserved the decals and painted marks.

Passenger side valve cover came off nicely but was uber dirty with oil and caked on dirt. Came out almost as nice as the driver's side.
"OK" stamp stayed in place and Decal cleaned up not too bad
I maybe at a crossroad when it comes to exhaust later. The heat riser tubes have rusted around the bolts and are loose now. I tried to loosen one of the bolts but as it was coming out, the head snapped off. So either I removed the riser tube and shield from both sides or I put a nice header and dual exhaust setup. Downside is I take away from the originality.

What about a set of '85 headers with the heat risers? They are a direct bolt on and keep the valve. Best option at this point to me.

I believe Erratic50 has a set that came off his Saleen Clone. I think he took those back to Nebraska with him. Not sure if he had plans for them or not. Shoot him a PM and maybe you can work something out. Good Luck!
