Default 85 mustang back on the road

As many of you are parking your cars for the winter mine is finally back on the road and driving. What a great feeling after 6 years of sitting almost untouched. Its far from done, but hey at least I can say its running and driving.

    Nice reverse cop car theme.

Good job getting it back driving. Do you plan to run it through the winter?

Definitely not, the heater core leaked so I had to bypass it. Besides that the body is really decent for what it is. Just the typical t-top door rust which explains the black door.

Looking like a good start. Congrats!

    Another t-top survives.

Welcome and congrads on the memorable turning point. We mark the date.
Another fine looking car to be seen, driven, and enjoyed no matter how it looks.
Sure it needs repair labor of luv but these are unlike most any other car on the road today.
Do any parking lot snow donuts to celebrate?
I do when i need to test a particular storm's traction potential.
Drive mine in winter dry road days or if an emergency.

Mine sat 13 mostly outside. Drove 1980-87, 220k then parked with cracked piston ring.
Parked due to lack of funds, time, garage. Torn down engine 1993, sent to machine shop 1996.
Things changed in 1998. Garage. Engine done, start of car restore for road. Back out 11/25/2000 now 150k added.
The second time around has been longer lived now having a Ranger to split the duties. Feels like a different car.
Prob because first life was 7 years and second life year #20 is 11/25/2020.
Much more work has be done and is permanently ongoing due to age but nothing that has kept it grounded very long..
Driven at least once weekly and has been trip ready reliable.
