    Default Code Alarm Removal

    My car has a Code Alarm that was installed in the early 90s. I want to remove it, but it looks like a real pain. Has anyone ever removed an after-market alarm system? Was it that difficult? Any tips? Thanks in advance.

    I start at the brain box and work my back to where it is connected too. You might have to fix a few wires but it should be straight forward. Good luck to you.

    I have done a few. If you don’t have power locks it’s easier. There should be a splice at the starter solenoid. Another at the key switch and then going to the horn and lights.

    Code alarm is one of the versions used by Ford as a dealer installed kit. I should have the manual around.

    Remove 1 wire at a time to verify what it does. Some can just be clipped off and some need to be reconnected. Leave the power for last. This way you will know what wire keeps it from starting.
