New user intro 1983 GLX Convertible

Hey guys so I came across a pretty good deal on this GLX Convertible 5.0 5 speed. I’ve had the car for a few months and currently using her as a daily. Lot of fun I’ve had the carburetor rebuilt recently along with a few other mechanical items. Currently have it at the shop getting all the body work as I am going to paint her in the original color scheme she had from the factory. Also getting ready to install new carpet and all the seats reupholstered. I came across the site to see if It’s possible to mount a 1985/1986 GT bumper cover on my 1983 model. I like the styling on that model better. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

All body work is currently done should be painted this weekend. Previous owner painted the black on the hood like the GT models. GLX models hood came a solid color. I’ll post a update when the paint is complete.

Like the car,
My ‘83 GLX was white with the black hood when I bought it.
For 18 years I’ve agonized over painting the hood black again.

It looks like a great starting point. I like the raised white lettering on the tires too, it makes an impact.

Pretty sure the bumper covers are interchangeable but the side moldings and rear cover would have to change to match. I think the good might also. Never done it but seen others that have.
