    Default 1983 GLX Convertible

    Hello Mustang fans,
    From Southwest Ontario
My first Mustang, a 1983 GLX convertible, which was a project that was started by a relative about 25 yeas ago, and nearly finished by me this year. It has been a short 5 year project, which has been frustrating and rewarding. I was able to get this far without asking any questions due to the many hours spent here just reading forum post after forum post
If my pictures are too big, let me know how to make them smaller
If they are too small, let me know how to make them bigger
    Let the critiquing begin
Any questions about a 1983 GLX convertible, ask away
    Thanks to all

I am personally not much of a convertible guy myself, but GLX looks pretty sweet to me! Congrats!

Well the paint supplier told me it was the factory color, Polar White. The white that was on the car seemed to be a lot brighter
Typical rust issues, floor pan, A pillar, cowl, quarter panels and door bottoms. Got rid of 99% of it, and coated the entire car with two coats polyurethane primer
Combo? Crate motor, C6 transmission, 4:10's or 11, I forget, Fitech fuel injection, Aeromotive fuel system, fully welded frame connectors, 3" exhaust
    Not much else
Oh, it has a cassette player

Sounds like you really went to town in it. Great job!

Was that C6 a tight fit in that tunnel?

Fitting the C6 into the tunnel was no problem. It took a little bit of tinkering to get the shifter cable and shifter installed though

    Default Engine installation

Pulled the intake to apply assembly lube to the camshaft and lifters. The engine was brand new, but had been sitting since 1997

It is a 460, crate motor. I just rechecked the date of the motor build, and it was manufactured in 1998, not 1997.
