    Default Rear Axle Posi-traction 3:55 gears $400

Completely rebuilt rear axle out of 1983 5.0 Mustang.
Ford Sterling 3:55 gears and 7.5 Posi-traction differential.
All new bearings throughout the rear end.
Sand blasted and epoxy coated before rebuild.
New 40% stronger, Alloy 5 lug axles and brake drums.
4 lug axles and drums available. You can select 4 or 5 lug, depending on what you need.
OEM epoxy coated traction bars available. $50
    New brake lines and cylinders.
    New emergency brake cables included.
I decided to go with a stroked 351 for my restoration so had to go with a larger axle.

    $400 firm
I have Much, much more invested in this axle, but it needs to go.

Detroit Mi area local pickup only.

Curious, as I have a friend who may be interested in this and his car is 4 lug... What would the price be with the 4 lug axles, or without any axles at all?

    Thanks,
    Cale

    Same price
I will sell it either way. I have 4 lug axles and drums or 5 lug.
we will need to install the 4 lug axles. no big deal.

Wow, that's neat! I've never seen a "built" 7.5 before. They lived behind hundreds of thousands of the early 5.0s. If you treat them like their intended purpose was, there's nothing wrong with them. Good luck with this. I always thought the way those OEM traction bars looked was pretty freakin cool. What other car came with OEM traction bars? It's pretty cool.

The only cars I know of with the OEM traction bars were the 83 Mustangs and Capri.
I think they may have been available in 82, but i am not sure. They made a big difference in eliminating wheel hop on these early cars.
The nice thing is they tuck under nice and neat without hanging way down.
I have owned a few 7.5 equipped mustangs and they work great on these early cars.
You will normally only break them if you put on large sticky tires and add substantially more HP.
If that is the goal this is probably not the axle to use.
It is a great axle for an early car.
works perfectly, and the 3:55 is a great street gear.

The traction bar rear ends were available from 1982-1984 on 5.0 Mustangs and Capri's. In 1984-1/2 that was changed to quad shocks.
