    Default Engine M sticker

I'm finally getting into the restoration of my son's '81 Black Magic. The engine has a letter 'M' sticker on the front. Anyone know the meaning and if their are reproductions made? I've searched the forum and internet but haven't been able to find info yet. I can post a pic later if needed.

When first produced for 1981, 1982, and 1983, they were color coded the engines. None were unpainted.

My guess is its a check code for manual transmission if it has an SROD or T4.

    Don't know otherwise.

Here is a shot from above the engine, but you should be able to see the 'M'. I wonder if it was an alert on the factory line that it was a manual transmission.
