I recently connected with someone of Facebook that has a 1979 2.8 V6 WITH manual set up. He was going to sell me the entire drivetrain for a very reasonable cost once he started his project to V8 it. I've been looking for a 2.8 manual set up for a while.

Was told last week their plan has changed and they may be looking to sell the car. I do not want to miss the opportunity for the manual set up to upgrade our other car. The rest of the car looks reasonable also.

Car is around 8-10 hours one way drive from me. Car sat for 20 years. Car looks to have been from the USA and speedo/odometer is in miles. Car is currently in Canada.

Car had been repainted. The trunk lid has been replaced with a non-79 one.

What would be a reasonable cost or offer for this car?
