    Default Tail light panel

Hello, I am considering doing something similar to the below with the tail light panel on my 82 Mustang. I would need to relocate the license plate to the rear bumper in order to do this; however I don't want to drill into the rear bumper cover to mount a license plate bracket. Is anyone aware of a rear bumper license plate relocation kit that would work for an 82 Mustang? Thanks in advance.

I am not aware of any kit for the Foxes to relocate the rear license plate.

The best option if you don't want to drill into the bumper will be a metal J or U shaped bracket that mounts to the metal bumper reinforcement under the cover and then drops down beneath the bottom lip of the cover and then returns up towards the molding line. Nothing too fancy needed, but will take some measuring and a good sheet metal brake to bend one up properly. Good Luck!

We installed a ton of those at my Dad's old Ford dealership. The license plate bracket screwed to the bottom side of the bumper and hung away from the cover about 1/2 inch. It looked awful. It had built in lamps to light up the plate. There were no screw holes in the bumper cover.

Personally I would mount it below the bumper, more like a pickup. You could center it and place it at an angle so it doesn't hang so far down.

They made those panels for the EXP, Mustang and Escorts (also Mercury brethren).

    looks good without the plate!
