If you do a search on my threads I have started you will find there is no paint makeup for the 2 year only charcoal gray. The SEM product is too light from the original color and is an interior paint to boot. I had some window trim from a very low mileage 1986 convertible that was totaled in late 1986 that had been stored indoors until 2011 when I had it paint matched through several sprays my painter did to get it correct.

so when I take my 86 to get painted 1E silver they can paint the lower the correct charcoal for a 86

I had my local PPG store mix a can for me for touch-up. The fellow behind the counter said it was just a dark gray primer. Makes sense since it would be quick, cheap, and easy. My areas are starting to wash through, white underneath.

The paint I utilized is a commercial product by Sherwin Williams Automotive that is used by Coke, Pepsi, Budwiser, etc. It is a little pricey, but I can say it still looks like the day I picked it up from the paint shop 8 or so years ago. Pay attention to the factory paint edges between the 2 colors in the door jambs. I also had the the body molding GT taped off to protect the light gray plastic embedded into the back. I also had the hood stripe sprayed instead of a vinyl decal sticker. You can get the stencil for this through a company in Florida, and they also have the other smaller vinyl decals for the back and front as required from what I remember.
