Anyone have some pics of what you did to make it fit? End result pics are helpful too.
Mainly the spare wheel area... either cutout or "gently massaged".
Goal is a 90s drivetrain into a carbed 79.
Thanks

Noice under there....
Real Noice....nothing blind about you, 4eb. Ima tryin not to be too wordy.
According to most posts, it is the tire well that got narrowed and deepened...Ford went to a 220 section TRX tire option, which was shallower at 630 mm rather than 637 mm like the earlier 190 section TRX tires, theSSP's used a shallower tire too....so the drivers side of the EFi tank hits the pre 1981 model year wheel well in just that one place. Based on all that...A little hammering on the tank OR spare tire well clears things.

The filler tube on my 81 notch was slightly larger in diameter than the hole on the 82 up tank. Had to use a hole saw to make it fit. Didn't have to hammer the body or tank. I welded in extensions to make the straps fit on the back side of the tank. The tank did sit lower though. It wasn't the best option, I just worked with what I had on hand at the time.
