Lots and lots of fluid film. Not fun if you have to work on the car though. Drench everything and then find a dusty dirt road. Will coat the fluid film and help preserve it from getting washed away.

If I have an older car that need attention or has surface rust I coat it with Eastwood encapsulator then use a HIGH quality rubberized undercoating over it. I say HIGH Quality as the cheap junk does not dry and it will always get all over your hands if you touch it forever. I use the Eastwood brand undercoating and like it a lot.
