I loved the episode and just watched it. Nick's got it down. Yet I still wonder what else may change the idle that required a change from factory setting on the mixture screws. Nick acknowledges the lean idle. He mentions finding a vacuum leak at the cruise control. The 4180 has reverse mixture screws for rich vs lean. Did some fuel varnish appear in the mixture passage over time where the adjustment restored the original mixture or a tad more? Neat seeing a GLX 5.0 HO manual with cruise. My 83 gt manual had no cruise option. I can't recall if an auto trans was an option either, I don't think so. 7 other shops though. Nick should raise his rates.

I wondered about that too. Even if it wasn't varnish or some other, have fuel formulas changed enough in 40 or so years to cause a problem like that? In any case, that was a beautiful car.
