    Default Power steering hose question

Have a 302 from a 91 in my 84. Went to hook up power steering hose and realized it would not connect because fittings are different. So not knowing any better I cleaned up my 84 pump and tried that but it did not fit on the motor lol. So I guess my question is can I just remove old 84 hose and replace with a 91 hose so I can use pump?

If it’s just the pressure fitting on the pump, that part just unscrews.

So I can just unscrew the fitting on the 91 pump and my 84 hose will connect?
    This fitting?

Does anyone know where I can get a correct power steering pump fitting for an '86?
Also, does anyone know the compatibility years?

I replaced my power steering pump many years ago. It's always had a very small leak at the fitting on the pump.
It took me a while, and many on/offs, to realize that it was because the fitting on the power steering pump wasn't 100% correct.
Of course, by then, I threw out my original steering pump.

    Thanks In Advance!

Late model restoration(LMR) has them. Not 100% sure on compatability but LMR has 79-89 ones then 90-93. So I'm assuming 79-89 are all the same and 90-93 are the same.

Yea, I should've checked the place that gets a good portion of my paycheck.
I'm also not sure of the compatibility.

However, I see that for $150, I can buy a pump and hoses. Nice!

So, for ~$150, no more leaking problems. That seems good to me!
Considering how much it cost me for a new rear brake hose bracket (with correct pop-rivet in - special rivet gun, big rivets, washers), that's fine.
Plus, I'm in the middle of a mild mid-restoration ($$$), that started with a small pin hole leak in the gas line.
    Don't forget, my '86 is ~35 years old. :-O

Btw, the stock gas line and the stock front-rear brake line are held to the body with metal clips.
So, there are three types of metal making contact - brake/gas line, clip, and the body. That causes electrolysis and metal-migration.
Therefore, after ~35 years, I got a pin hole in the gas line.

***Note that can also happen (will happen after enough time) to the front-back brake line.
So, for me, that meant all new stainless-steel brake lines and gas lines, along with using rubber coated clamps.

Then, the "might as wells " of new 4-cat CARB-approved h-pipe, exhaust, ss brake hoses, calipers (M2300K - over 20 years old), rotors, pads, rear springs(stiffer) and pads, struts, shocks, fix minor rust on the bottom of the rear quarter panel on the passenger-side, front tires (had rear already), and the list keeps going...

    My '86 is my toy/hobby.
People can spend their money on gambling, booze, drugs, hookers, etc.
For me, I'd rather spend my money on my cars.

    Thanks again!
Btw, LMR has another sale on now(02/16/2020).

While you are working on your power steering get rid of that ridiculous "cooling loop" Ford used from the factory and replace it with a small cooler. Add an in-line filter and replace it every 15-20K miles. Use Type F or synthetic power steering fluid and viola -- NO MORE NOISE.

    What's the cooling loop?
It is a loop of tubing in the return line that sits in front of the radiator.

You didn’t happen to get temperature differences in the cooler setup versus the stock loop did you?

I did not, but way too hot vs nice and cool

I’ve burned my arm on the cooling loop in the past on a hot summer day.

if you have a stick, the radiator often has a transmission cooler that will work even better.
