    Default 7.5 Rear end question

    Morning All

I've been watching this rear axle on our local trade site for a while now.

From what I understand this would have been pulled from a 90's 4 or 6 pot. I'm wondering whether this rear end will assist me in converting my 84 5.0 to 5 lug disk?

Any advice would be much appreciated Cheers.

Sure, as it bolts right in. You would still need to address the differing brake lines as well as the brake proportioning valve so the price will go up.

Is it you really want 5-lug or rear disc? LMR has 5-lug rear drum kits for under $300. Drum brakes are a PAIN yes, but once done last a super long time. Often well over 100k miles.

A rear disc brake caliper mounting kit is also reasonably priced, though you'd still need to address brake balance and lines.

Plus, the later model housing has longer axles pushing your wheels out about 3/4 inch each if memory serves.
