    Default Door mirror cover.

I currently have the driver's side door mirror removed to repair the loose cables. While it is off I'm going to restore the parts to original. I know the outer mirror cover is charcoal color but it was painted a high gloss black. What color should the mirror hold cover on the inside be, should it also be charcoal or black?

That's what it is now but I was thinking the interior would be a sating finish.

The finish really varies from part to part. Generally I would go with either a Satin black or a Semi-gloss. The Gloss Black is too much IMHO.

I tend to agree. I think the piece has been repainted at some point.

Soy-tin-lee makes sense a part like that would be the same color in and out when new.
    Possible oem mirror got damaged.
Was replaced with a gloss black one, then the outside surface was repainted to match what was on there.
Just like some early Fox Mustangs have later model taillights, noses, seats, etc retrofitted.
Not always done for updated looks.
Damage and lack of available correct exact style parts means replacing with what is more easily obtained at the time.
Especially hard to find early style taillights. If one is a goner, both are replaced, as a pair to match, with whatever works.
Could switch back to correct parts if found, but chances are, on a non show car, they will be left in place.
