Default Anyone install 85-93 style visors in a 79-84?

So I see all of the T top replacement headliners seem to be cut for 85-up style visors with the clip to hold it. Something that definitely seems needed if you ever had your visors chop you in the face on a hard shift lol.

Anyone ever screw in the center clip? Advise against it or do it again?

(At it, for those that don't know the actual metal inner roof is different than 85 and up. The cars that have the sunroof clip have molded sheet metal to accept the sunroof click. Don't know how it works in an 84 without it)

I have installed the later model sunvisors in many of my Foxes over the years. Generally just a matter of drilling the correct sized holes in the proper location. Getting ready to do the same thing in my 1986 Bronco, swapping in 1992 sunvisors.

I don't remember if I did the swap on my my 79 PC as that would be the only sunroof car I have ever owned (Don't like them due to the reduced headroom) I will try and check to see if I did or not. The sunroof shade front bracket was missing on my PC, but I have one now. Don't think that would prevent you from installing the later sunvisors, although they may rest against the bracket when flipped up. Have to look to be sure.

Yes, I did install the sun visors with the clips. Here are a couple of pictures. Please ignore the headliner as it needs to be replaced as well as the backer board.

I believe the sunvisors are T-top or Convertible versions, but it has been a few years and my memory isn't getting any better. Hope that helps.
