I cant believe it, the new Hypro choke spring I put in last year has failed already. This is the 4th one in 5 years. I want a genuine Motorcraft now. Does anyone know the correct part number for a motorcraft?

So once again I'm searching for the correct choke thermostat. On ebay I see 2 that both would fit, seem identical yet have different part numbers.
This one is Motorcraft CM4513 and according to the compatibility listing on ebay, its for an 84 Mustang.

This one is Motorcraft CM-4433-A. The ebay compatibility chart says its not for an 84 Stang, but they look identical.

Whats the real deal? Can i use the CM-4433-A on my 84 CFI vert? A bit of a price differential.
Is this what you are looking for? Obviously this one is trashed. It may have also come off of a 351 cfi setup. Can't remember if I moved over choke from the NOS 351 I found to the original CFI on my car, but both worked perfectly.

Truck 351M,
Panther Lincolns and Fords and Mercury fullsize sedans
Each had 351W G codes from 1981 onwards; they used the same
choke heater, choke diaphram, pull off and VOTM parts as the HO CFi 5.0.
The Variable Venturi 7200 is a Motorcraft 2bbl carb used on both, but there was a Feedback 2150E Motorcraft too. Each if those looks like a CFi....
Where it definetly gets weird is on the 3.8 CFi's....they have no choke, but an ITS and ISC stepper motor. No choke, no VOTM, but ITS/ISC. Ugh-ha....
Each is differently set up with a different base idle setting process, but Autozone and some non Ford literature groups them together with Grand Farther Clauses that divert you to VV2700/VV7200, CFi, 2150, 2150E. The 3.8/4.2/5.0/5.8 thing is not well defined. So just be carefull. So Hygrade CV237 was a one size fits all replacement which was also used on other Fords too.
The best part is the OEM VV7200 Feedback carb part from the 5.8 liters. It could be an LTD, a Crown Victoria, Marquis, Grand Marquis, but a Panther or 351M Bronco or F150 truck from the same 81 to 83 era should get you one.
Im sorry for even suggesting a non Ford listing back in 2014.
Ford OEM all the way fgross.
Its s Ford parts thing. Grouping everything together makes it easy to get s wrong part.
