Decent dry road winter afternoon. Agenda: estate sale then minor grocery shopping on way home.
Drove car an estate sale 30 miles away in Dearborn. Money saved at the sale paid the way.
Was after one 79-82 Mustang ps taillight housing.
Darn, all 15 Mustang/Capri taillight assys shown in web pics were gone.
So was the black 93 Mustang 1/18 die cast and the others too.
Shed had about 20 aero rear quarter trim panels, a few kick panels. Some SN95 trim parts too.
Bucket full of ECM's.
Garage had what appeared to be an assembly line tray full of headrests.
Living room had a 50's? light blue leather couch (tagged as Ford furniture). Seen in Ford lobbies.
Also seen- two sets of t-roof glass panels in vinyl bags, 50 per set. 1/2 off tomorrow.
Never know what one will find.
Got some good items spent 6.00.
One was a Craftsman 1-1/8" combo wrench for 1.00 Missed out on one at a prior sale.

Probably more cool Ford stuff at Dearborn yard/estate sales than elsewhere.

I traded my 85 GT back from the guy I traded it to last year. Guess I couldn't stay away. It needs a bunch of interior stuff, which a buddy has for me.
I also ordered a complete t-top weather strip kit and door and hatch weather strip.
Not sure about the wheels, he put them on. They are the tribar 17x9 with 255/40/17 at all 4 corners.
No idea why my pics is loading sideways.
I just LOVE those wheels, damn I should have picked up a set from the jy when I had a chance but I went with 98 GT wheels instead

The only thing I don't like is the plain center caps. I want to pick up a pair of these from LMR.
I just picked up a set of cobra replica rims last night for my 85 GT. they were to good of a price for me to pass on and they are mint. I havent tried them on the car yet because the weather has turned pretty cold (-35C) last night. Next week ill put them on the car to see if i have clearance issues.
Im hoping I dont need to put longer studs and spacers but they are 17x9s 245/45R17
Fuel pump on Wednesday, got her running again. Wiggling the hard line in the process revealed a manifold flooding crack in the rubber fuel line under the clamps. Glad this surfaced with the air cleaner off in the garage and not out on the road.
Today I replaced the passenger side tail light lense. After replacing the driver side several months ago I had myself convinced that I would run out of butyl tape. Today I decided to go for it and had some left. Hate it when I outsmart myself.
Those rims look great on your car. What part of Canada do you live? Since you mentioned -35c.

Ya I don't have a heated shop but still couldn't wait to put the tires on just to see how they looked lol. It will warm up a bit in a couple weeks so I can continue with the rest
Car has been parked with a blown head gasket for a year .
Got it in the shop , torn down , and ready to clean and lap valves , seals , and reassemble. 2020 will see him back on the road again .!!!

Like to drive the car on clean winter roads at least once a week. Keeps car in driving shape.
Parking in lots were out of the ordinary.
The usual issues including laying on the horn at darkly tinted SUV's blindly backing out at my car.
Lately have been parking on an angle and further out. And still this happens.
The red Chevy was not there when i parked. Plenty of open spots available nearby.
No damage but was pssd-off.
Opened the fuel door and left a non-threatening, no swearing, WTH note stuffed in the drivers door handle.
Later
Walking back to car after leaving another store, ah cool.. a new Corvette was parked behind me.
Got to chat a bit with the GM software engineer who was driving the Vette. He asked if i had a 5.0 in mine.
Had manufacturer's plate. Common sight. 2nd one today. They all test their products around town regularly.
The horn sounds the same as a regular car. Quiet idle, can feel engine heat standing back at rear.
Blue car, all red interior. Many displays, lighted console buttons inside.
My car was older but cleaner!

That's COOL! at least the Vette knew where to park to be safe!

Replaced t5 fluid, due to a recent reluctance to go in gear. Didnt really help that much. Going to look into clutch cable and quadrant. Currently stock bits the cable could need replaced. Sad story though; as I'm anxious to have it out now. Last weekend yanked 550 Holley off and dropped 600 edelbrock on. Immediately noticed 500% better throttle response and regained ability to control idle. Shortly after test drive it developed the shift issue. Typical 1 step forward 2 back. I drove it again tonight; still starting and running real well minus some pulsing. I failed to mention I yanked the eddy off another car a year ago because it continously stalled. It was more to prove to myself the Holley needs attention; the car IMO has never ran that good since I owned it. Anyway, got some work ahead of me.
If anyone has experience with the sudden reluctance to go into gear let me know. For the full detail it only does it when stopped. Shifting up through the gears its fine. Usually double clutching gets it in the mood to drop in.

This weekend it was warm enough out that I decided to continue with my Intake replacement. So I pulled my lower intake cleaned everything up and installed my GT40 lower intake.
One thing that I noticed that I feel is strange is that when I pulled my Distributor out on TDC (on the compression stroke with the rotor pointing at the #1 spark plug on the cap) the marking on the ballancer is reading about 15 deg. shouldnt it be at 0 on TDC at the #1? I havent put the distributor back in yet, Should move it to Zero on the ballancer before reinstalling it?
Its a funny thing though the more I take apart the more things I find to work on lol. I can see how a small project can turn into a full blown rebuild haha
Thanks
