I took the ignition out, the wiper motor off, and started taking the brake system apart....full of rust after a couple years in Illinois storage. Started compiling the list of 5 lug change, and front end replacement.

Changed oil on both since the Quickfuel was pig rich on both cars.

Thing's not to do. Check out the eiring on the Dizxy on the newbie black abomination. Swapped dizzys with a filthy one we had. Now it sparks, I have fuel and air but it won't run. Going to retime it today and start there.

On the original fox, been tuning the quickfuel, starting to get better but it bigs with the secondaries coming on. Time to tune more.

Went to watch local evening cruising on M1 Woodward Ave last nite 9p-1245 am.
Lots of nice cars till 1030p. Then the classics disappeared and the new perf cars and ricers took over.
Gone were the classic rumbles and blower whines. Loud rasps then pop pop pop went the tailpipes or g valve bangs.

Very warm night in the 80's, breeze.

Pretty sure the miss under boost is the cheap fuel bought at last fill up. Wrong blend for hot weather?
When exiting to cruise, after a 20 mile freeway run, had the slight buck going thru the gears.
Later, after engine and air temp cooled, no buck at full throttle.

This weekend I sanded and re-painted the front bumper trim satin black. It was very cracked and chipped before so it looks much better now. I still need to do the sides and back but its a start.

Then, I figured I would do what I thought would be a simple job - replace the door striker bushings. Shoulda searched the forums first!! It has the striker with the captive washer so I couldn't get it off to just slide the new bushing on. Then I started screwing the striker back in and plop went the retaining nut in the fender. Not a simple job any more. Too ticked to get it out. Going to try magnets and patience, but I think part of my interior might be coming out soon. Heh, maybe I'll find the build sheet!

Finally removed the broken studs for my thermostat housing.

I found the gasket leaking last fall and thought it would be an easy job to replace. I snapped the top bolt immediately. I then try the bottom one after heating it with a torch. I can't get any tools on it that give me any leverage. The one socket that I was able to get in there snapped. So i put the project aside.

Due a kitchen remodel that I started in December, I was finally able to get back on this the past week. I was able to get a ratcheting wrench on the bolt and after a few mins the bolt snapped. After prying off (and eventually breaking) the thermostat housing, I was left with two studs sticking out from the intake.

The top stud, after a heat/freeze session, came out easily using vice grips. The lower bolt only had about 3/4" remaining and there is no room for a stud extractor. Several heat/freeze cycles later I only succeeded in rounding the stud to about 1/2 its diameter. No one local had a nut remover small enough to fit on the stud. I found one on Amazon and it arrived yesterday. Still too long to fit it on the end of the stud so I cut 1/2" off the end of the remover (wasn't using a ratchet on it any way) with my Dremel. 20 mins later, I had that last bolt out. Lets hope that the install is better than the removal.

Installed the headliner. Installed might be a little advanced a word since there is no trim holding it up. But, it's on the top, light installed, front two windshield 'A' pillar plastic on loosly.

Getting a headliner in the back door of a 4-door was stressful as you have to bend it...

Actually the interior is stripped out completely except for dash and steering wheel.
You still have to flex/bend it to get it through the door. Not a big deal, but I didn't want to mar the new material or accidentally crease the board.

Added qt of oil and checked all the lug nuts for correct torque. ok Good to go.
Loaded lawn chair, cooler, thermos with coffee. Cars and coffee.
Cross town afternoon shopping and some cruising later and tomorrow weather permitting.
Thought about changing the shifter t-handle back to the ball, but is working out pretty good.
Handle gets pretty hot sitting in the direct sun, but hot cloudy weather predicted.

Installed all the upper trim to hold headliner in, back of rear seat (not bad looking for original) and rear deck piece. I had enough headliner fabric left over to also cover the rear deck piece after stiffening it with a piece of cardboard.

Great idea to use the extra material for the package tray.

Got the carpet layed in and rest of back seat installed. Plan to trim carpet edge and install lower trim along door sills later today. Not going to put the front seats in until after I install the clutch kit later this week. Still have to decide where to run the aftermarket tach. It's a small one so it may go on the dash. The FiTech handheld has the tach in it's dashboard feature when running, but I want a real round tach. Towels on back deck are to minimize sun fade as I have only a short carport, no garage.

Drove it yesterday to the Detroit area Downriver Cruise. 2-11pm.
80's, few big dots of rain on sidewalk for 10 minutes.
Lots of old and new cars. The usual curb lane 'staging' areas for tire 'warming'.
Water, bleach or dry. New grooved concrete. Totally black from thick layer of rubber.
A few on hand to keep car in lane by pushing on the rear 1/4's of car.
Mostly late model. Chargers, Mustangs outnumber the others. Hemis everywhere.
Normal crowd and car qty. Hundreds in the hot spot, tents and chairs all over.
Rumbles, popping, booming, screeching, roaring, horn honking.
