Still have my Michigan black/white 79-82 plates from when i bought the car. Front and rear.
Only remember two plate numbers in 40 years of sets. That is one of them.
The 80's blue/white 83-90 set is the other. Have them too. The letters and numbers were reverse order.
And our home phone number from late 50's to 60's. And a couple others. But how or why?
Hated front plates. Cut my hand on one closing the 'trunk' on the VW in the 70's.

Gratiot Eastpointe cruise is rescheduled to September.
We are going out there anyway Sat.
Downriver cruise is on so far.
Woodward will happen, sponsorship, car shows, portajohns or not, like the old days with none of that stuff.
Get off those chairs, put the dam hoods down, and drive that thing!
Nothing wrong with it, but too many cars stay parked and few cruise. Driven only in the morning arrival and when they leave.
Have seen more cars out there now every weekend cruising, and other areas too.

    Nice !!
I'm not much of a car show guy never had show car worthy of showing
However I drive the living s@it out of each one

My buddy is selling his 93 cobra on Facebook and it's pricey but crazy clean
That's a show car and the belly looks better than the top and it's crazy nice on the top side
It's approx 70k miles with max Motorsport catalog thrown at it

    Worthy of showing

mustang alley may still do a event of some sort but practice social distancing
There email stated they were looking into options so we will see

Changed the oil pressure sending unit. A couple of weeks ago I was driving down I-91 and the oil pressure gauge suddenly dropped to zero. No engine noises so I crossed my fingers and made it home. With the engine running, I checked the sending unit with an ohmmeter between the terminal and ground, and got an open circuit. An ammeter in series between the wire and the terminal also showed zero current, and a voltmeter between the wire and ground showed 6.5 volts so I knew the wiring was O.K. Got a Motorcraft sending unit from Rock Auto, put it in today, and the gauge is working just fine.

Default Radio cutting off/on simple fix once found

Radio, amp, aux power points, would suddenly lose power.
Then would work later or next day.
Suspected loose wire or bad relay. Sometimes a bump in the road fixed this, most of the time not.
But where? Had to catch this when it happened.
Every time, i got home, was ok. This time no. Good.

Got out the 12v test light and worked back from radio fuse to the battery.
The stereo's underhood located maxifuse had 12v in but no 12v out. Fuse ok.
    Wiggled the wires.
The 12v out wire screw on the maxi fuse was loose.
The 12v in power wire screw to the maxi fuse was not tight.
Re-tightening both screws instantly 'repaired' everything.

That is a nice car! What alignment specs did you tell the shop to do?

I don't know enough about where settings should be and it's just a street car. Here is what they gave me when it was done though

I spent about 45 minutes last night wiggling the rear under solo on a floor jack. Got it close. Will get it bolted when it stops raining. This weekend? Next week?

Took my crunched bumper off and started routing intercooler piping. I predict having a fully operational SVO early next month

They really are awesome motors man, this SVO is gonna be my daily for a while most likely, either that or I’ll sell it and manual swap my Grand Marquis. Haven’t quite decided yet because on campus parking might be an issue

Drove my 2.3T across town today. M-3 Gratiot cruise #1 is postponed but we sat in the usual spot for a few hours anyway.
Seen a late 90's White Cobra pull into parking lot. Owner said he just got it. Was few hundred feet from dealer where i got mine.
Later, filled up tank. Ave 25.3 mpg cty/hwy since last fill. Regular driving usually staying out of the power valve and boost.
Finally at 9pm, cruised M-1 Woodward Ave on way home. 100's of cars and enthusiasts. Bumper to bumper for about a mile.
Lots of noise. Mostly younger crowd. Not bad for a night in the 50's temp wise. New or old, performance cars luv cold air.

Did some more work on my cowl. Bought one of those mini belt sanders, I am smoothing the windshield flange about 1/2 way done.
Next will be the firewall flange.
I removed the rivets in the stock caster camber plates, and tried to dry fit my Stifflers trans X member. The driections said for 4r79w, to use 2 wide spacers in front, 1 thin spacer in back. This X member must be made for a later Fox, because all of that is way too wide to fit the brackets on my frame.
I can figure it out, but will have to have the drivetrain in the car.
79 Zephyr, 4.6L 4v/4r70w swap, with team z front and rear suspension, 8.8 and upgraded brakes and coil overs. Running Holley Terminator X Max.

Drove it a few miles to Kroger this evening. Perfect weather night. 70 at 11p.
    Miss under boost is gone.
Yesterday, ran into some bumper to bumper traffic on I-275. Hot afternoon.
Truck tire tread peel in center lane.
When traffic picked up, car missed going thru gears under boost.
Ran normal otherwise except did idle a bit high afterward.
The shopping trip today was a test.
Have to consider some of the ignition parts are 20 years old. Or carb got a bit too hot.
More likely, car had a fit. It don't like stop and go traffic, nor do I.

Installed a cup holder with USB charge ports on it, didnt want to drill into any of the plastic so I mad a mount off of one of the center console bolts under the ash tray. Other than that I've been just driving the car enjoying it for now. I have new door pins and run channel molding to install but I am dreading it lol.
