Doesn't seem like good bushing
There's a small hole or slit that aligns with tailhousing for trans oil drain back
The ones I've seen anyhow

yes they have the hole and I was thinking about sanding the bronze a little or putting the original bushing back in as there is nothing wrong with it

massage is ok as long as its done with high luster its a slip yoke and moves in and out as your rear-end moves up and down while shaft is spinning at crazy rpms even at idle
If ifs in there square and true it is no different than how you sand your thrust bearing clearance on your crankshaft
Same concept its just a hole instead
Anything that spins needs oil film for the most part anyhow
Its a job for ball hone on cordless drill if they expandable reamer is not affordable
I have access to machines and tools so I woukd install new bushing and buy good ball hone 600 grit maybe and in out like 10 times fit yoke repeat once it fits drain trans fluid and let it eat
I finally rebuilt my Duraspark/distributor harness. The one that came with the car was cracked and damaged so I had been using one that I took from an old F100. It was about 18 inches longer than I needed and did not have the wire for the tach at the gray connector. I built a new one from another one I scrounged up along with new coil and temp sensor plugs. It cleaned up pretty good.
The tach was one of those things that didn't work after the engine swap was completed years ago. This was due to the pin for the tach are in different positions on the gray 8-pin connector between the 79 and 82 harnesses.
Once that was done, I dug out the Motorcraft embossed Duraspark II box that I cleaned up and painted to match my valve covers. The old Borg-Warner box had been working so I never swapped to this one. The B-W will now be the spare I carry with me.
Everything is working great and I have a tach now, sort of. The 8000 RPM tach in the car doesn't have 4-6-8 dial so I have to divide by 2 and carry the remainder, but I know its wired right. I have a 6000 RPM tach that I will swap in when I get to the interior.

Drove and met friend again at the M1 cruise spot.
Even if only few cruisers are seen, productive things can come out of the time.
Stayed a few hours. Off on sprinkles. Later, started to rain. Packed up chair and cooler.
Stayed parked engine idling and listened to radio until window fog cleared. Hard rain, dark out.
Found four-five small water leaks, of which seeing any active trails have eluded for several years.
-Water trickling down inside DS A pillar trim. Was a delay before trickle started. The time to run down the trim?
-Water drip from ds headliner/windshield trim at the splice. Related to A pillar leak, shows up in hard rain.
-DS door seal near mirror. Two runs, down door panel and kick panel. No delay.
-DS drip above dead pedal onto floor.
Sources of water leaks unknown at this time.
All water winds up on rubber mat. Small puddle. Placed a small towel to sop up the flows.
One of those problems that looks to have more than one source to track down.
Replacing my thermostat. It overheats, then apparantly the thermostat opens and temperature is back to normal.
Found the foureye front comes with coffee tray from the plant.
The thermostat housing is a bit pitted. Only a small edge around the port to the hose that goes to the waterpump left.
Have to do it over again as it leaked terribly.
Guess thermostat dropped and is in between the flanges.

Today will be a sad day, going to part the 83 I got as a parts car. I will be getting my second set of OEM louvers, a clean dash hull, very clean doors and depending how it goes a ton of little stuff.
Any idea what a clean set of louvers is worth?
Black mismatch car runs, more or less, lota left to do but it starts and moves under it's own power. Going to go through the harness because of the badly done repairs. Retape it, fix connections, and try to make sure everything else is safe.

I've been home for a week, after 28 days working away from home. I've basically been busy catching up on stuff around the house. I managed to dismantle/rebuild a t5 for a friend Saturday and we spent Sunday afternoon putting it back in his 93LX.
Today, I went through some of my parts stash and dug out my 79 cobra. I managed to turn it around inside the garage with my wife's help. It's sitting on wheel dollies, but my garage is absolutely packed with parts. It was no easy task. All I have to do is set it back down on the tires and back it out of the garage. No motor or transmission in it, but the plan is to patch some minor rust just starting to form around the passenger strut tower. I'm also going to sand the surface rust on the roof and treat with rust converter. Push it back inside and I can start on engine bay body work.
Pic is halfway through the process. It's been buried under parts for the last couple years.

Got the passenger side lower ball joint replaced today. Didn’t have to go buy any new tools. Hmmm. Driver side tomorrow.

As always, "It ain't what you don't know that gets you, it's what you think you know that just ain't so."
Ran the wires from passenger side to driver's side for fan power. Figured out where I will mount the fuel unit for the FiTech.
Seems puny. Sigh. Just had an hour or so to tinker.
