    Not sure which brand we went with, but a catless H fit's an LTD with no issues
    (I know not a cougar, but still a longer fox than stangs).

    The one we got was 3 pieces, so I recommend that if still avail, gives you
    some adjustment.

    EDIT: I looked it up and it was a MAC h-pipe we used. Here is a pic of it.

    As long as you have the correct shorty or long tube headers it should fit.

    However, not all cougar birds have a double hump transmission cross member but a mustang or turbo coupe or any 88 5.0 car should have it.

    Ive had several v-6 cars in 87 that had the double hump and a few 5.0's that didn't.
    2 1986 cougars (both 4 eyed and 5.0)

    It wont fit with the stock cast manifolds.

    I have stock mustang headers on my 88 cougar, and I used a standard mustang off road h pipe. You will need the dual exhaust tranny crossmember, most likely. I have some SN95 cobra mufflers bolted up to the Hpipe and mufflers dumped at axle.

    Deciding what I want for tailpipes, if at all.

    Ok cool have mustang stock headers has a double hump member just thought they were a little longer

    Stock 88 cougars had cast manifolds?
    Weren’t they true duals like a mustang?
