    Default Transmission broken seal?

I am just about to start up my 82 for the first time in 20 years. While jacking up the front of the car, transmission fluid came out of the tail. The driveshaft is off, so it just poured out where it would connect when the front of the car was lifted up.

Is this normal when the driveshaft is not hooked up or do I have a broken seal? If it is a seal, is this very hard to replace just getting under the car with a creeper and keeping the transmission on the car?

Hi, the yoke of the drive shaft runs in the seal. >No yoke, transmission is open.
    Glad you are resurrecting it.

    Thanks!

Every once in a while on this restoration, I get good news like this that I don't have a new 8 hour project!

You can get these plugs you can put in there. They're cheap. I recommend it. You think you won't have the driveshaft out again, but... you will.

This project is starting to snowball, but what else is new? I enjoyed this review on the plug kit on LMR

Really, Dustin? Then don't write a damned review!

My show deadline is fast approaching. I haven't had any car time for a couple of weeks, but now I'm going to have to chip away at it every day and get some solid car time days in if I'm going to make it. The show is two weeks away! At least I actually got to take advantage of an LMR sale. They usually start right after I make a big order.
