Any hope for making power over e7te with the 75 351 head listed above? From what I can see, it looks like a little more compression, same valves, eyeball mark one larger ports and a stiffer cast iron stud mounted style rocker arm. Am I nuts?

What do you plan on using the heads on? What is your HP goal? From what I have seen these heads were used on both the 351W and the 302. The 302 has smaller valves and the 7/16 head bolt holes while the 351W version has the larger valves and 1/2" head bolt holes. So just make sure yours are from a 351W.

Some say that have similar potential to a set of GT40 heads with porting, good valve job, and springs. Question is if you have to pay a machine shop to do all that work, do you really save any money compared to buying a good set of GT40 heads, or aftermarket heads. I would do some research and number crunching before moving forward. Good Luck!

They were used on both the 351 and the 302 in 75 and they have the same small valve sizes as the E7 (1.78 and 1.45). The only 75 head with big valves I've seen for a 351 has 2.04 intakes, 1.8X exhaust but a huge 76cc chamber, which would drop compression to about 8:1, I think. 69-74 351 had the better 1.84/1.54 setup but, these ain't them. This one has 1/2 inch holes and has 351 cast into it. From what I can see, it has a smaller chamber than the e7 (58 v. 66cc), probably a more stable valvetrain with dual springs and cast stud type rail rockers and slightly larger looking ports on the intake side. The exhaust looks like it could use some work to get the air injection ports ground out. It's going on an otherwise stock 88 roller 5.0. I'll either port the lower or go GT40. Just looking for a little more energy out of the motor, not a 400 horsepower 302.
