Default 1986 paint code for the gray where the headlights are.

I would like ti know the paint code where the headlights are in the bumper cover. I thought a black car would have that painted black. Would like to see a nice picture of a black 86 in the front. Thanks! Fran

The trim/headlight bucket color was the same on all cars, black , charcoal, red, light regatta blue, etc.
If they take my stapler, then I'll set the building on fire...

The trim color on the bumper/headlights was actually the primer that the bumper came in before painting. They were just left unpainted with no body color.

Are you absolutely sure about this? I have NOS front and rear covers, and both are finished in an almost matte black primer, nowhere near the gray trim color.

It's not uncommon for the assembly line parts to have been prepped differently than the service parts. How many times have you seen an original part on your car with that nice grey primer, and the service part with that awful flakey black primer?
