Default Burt Reynolds? ha....1986 Mustang GT had factory leather?

Just came across this on ebay today. I'm sure many others have as well. I just noticed that it had leather in it. Now whether that leather is factory or not, i don't know. But if it isn't, they did a pretty nice job on it. Take a look.

85 & 86 Mustang GT's could be had w/ factory ordered leather - it was charcoal gray. In some convertibles, it could have been white too.

The leather in that interior is custom, as there was no such leather combination (colors) available through Ford like that car has - so someone did a custom job with the interior upholstery.

I did some work in his house when I lived in Florida but he was at a FSU game. I think a lot of his cars are the FSU colors.

Someone made a superb effort to replicate the stock 85/86 GT seat in leather. I think it looks quite nice actually.

Did he Really own that? Thats pretty badass if so! lol I'm a huge Burt Reynolds fan. But I agree. If I see him in a Muscle car it's gotta be a '77 S.E. "Bandit edition" T/A or an '80 S.E. Turbo T/A.

That car has been around the auction block more times than I can count.

It switches hands like every three years (or more).

The Docs you say may not have had that option, but are you sure that you could not tell a dealership to order leather for a 5.0 coupe.... ??

But what was referred to is the 85 and 86 GT's. All GT's were hatchbacks or Verts, not coupes. (At least to the best of my beer-drinking forgotten knowledge).... As the saying goes - if I remembered all the 80's - I didn't really live in the 80's. Only thing I remembered back then was the LX 5.0 coupe (in between beers of course)....

Even without the "celebrity connection," it looks to be a pretty decent car.

I'm not sure if it's a $5000+ car ---- but I dont really see it to be a bad ride.

I originally sold this car in 2001 and now I have it back. How's that for getting around. I don't live in Florida anymore so unfortunately it won't be running into Burt anytime soon. And no this car did not come with leather. It original had the gt seats. Tan with red piping.

I am surprised the car came with a white top if it had the sand beige interior. I saw in the other thread where it had gold mesh wheels at one time...and if originally had a beige top with this color combination...WOW! Also kind of sad to see the type of restoration the car received at one point...

Too bad the car wasn't ordered with the beige top as it would have looked good with either the original Oxford White paint or the burgundy repaint. That 3.27 gear is saying automatic transmission.

That is true. I could always take the white top off and have a tan one put on. The white one is original to the car so I could keep it in storage. I like the tan idea

The hard plastics look the part, but the cloth stuff looks gray...maybe it is the lighting or camera. That car is in desperate need of some dew wipes.

When sand beige cloth fades (the back and bolsters, the center section material holds its color better) that's what it ends up looking like...grey. My old 86's interior looked exactly the same.
    Cheers!
