Default 8k rpm tach with v8

I found quite a few threads on this one, but nothing confirming that it can work. Maybe I just didn't dig deep enough.

Have any of you successfully modified a 4 cyl turbo 8k rpm tach to work with a v8? I did find an older thread on another site that said a 100k ohm resistor soldered in will make it read correctly. I'm wanting to do this for my 79 pace car, which was a 4 cyl converted to v8.

    Default

Finally came across this thread after some extensive Google searching. Figured I'd post it here so I can refer to it later, since I'm out of town for another 3 weeks.
