I bought my 86 mustang in March, 2018. Its relatively rust free but need lots of work. Its interior was incomplete when I bought it but the carpet and dash was new. I still dont have a radio and some trim. It came with a stripped convertible top and a spare top that was ripped. I recently installed a new top. After about 2 months of ownership it started overheating quickly (headgaskets ). Over the winter I decided that if I am going into the engine I may as well upgrade some stuff. My father and I did a top end rebuild. While inside we found E7 heads and pistons with valve relieves, so it wasnt from 1986 (based on my readings). Now its running great. Its crazy how the to-do list keeps growing, still fun. This forum has helped a lot.

Here is a pic of my mustang from when I first got it, next to my Focus.
