I agree! I’d love to see some detailed pics of this thing..700 Miles is just ridiculous!

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

    Default Sandy Block

If it's the same ASC McLaren Mercury Capri that's depicted in the photo - and it probably is - then that's the late "Sandy Block" Capri which is definitely a low-mileage & already pretty well known car. He was sort-of a "guru" with ASC McLaren Mustang & Capri and really did a lot of research and documentation on the history & details & differences with these cars. Like me, he was also from New Jersey and I really wish I'd had the chance to meet him before he passed away. I've seen this car for sale before on eBay and elsewhere and am not sure exactly how many owners it's had by now.

Here it sold at auction in Texas

Here it is on Late Model Restoration's webpage

Here it is listed for sale for $29,500
(I'd wonder why it's on Boston CL when it's listed below as being in Oklahoma though)

Looks like a nice car. I wonder what it really look like now.

Anyone else notice that all of the links have the same images of the car in them?

I thought it might be Sandy's car. I didn't think it had that low of mileage though. One of the Mustangs he owned had very low miles. I helped him with the research of the builds and sent him pics of the buildings where ASC designed the cars and performed the conversions. I still have a Herman Miller (made in MI) office chair that came from the design center.

About a week after posting that I thought it was Sandy's Capri, I started seeing people posting about it on some of the Capri FB groups. It's definitely the car and using the same (older) photos from previous sales/auctions. I first saw this car (and these same high-quality photos of it) on eBay quite a number of years ago, I guess shortly after Sandy had died. I think the eBay Seller kept listing it over & over for around $33K or so.

If I recall correctly (and so the story goes) that car was Sandy's pride & joy. And when he passed away, several ASC & Capri group/club/forum members - all supposedly ASC enthusiasts (and/or "money enthusiasts", it's hard to tell sometimes) approached the family to try to buy the car - but the family declined. Then they turned around and sold it to a definite dealer/flipper type who doubled the asking/selling price. Maybe the ASC & Capri guys repeatedly low-balled the family or picked it apart or acted like vultures? Who knows? Or maybe not. Not trying to spread rumors, but that's basically what I remember anyway.

I wonder if the car is in the same condition now as in those (probably 8-years old) older photos?
