    Default T.P.S. troubles?

I need advice...... I am running a stock 94 gt engine in my 86, the harness has been changed to 88 and has MAS. it idles great and that it still has trouble revving up past 2500 rpm. I have great fuel pressure, timing is perfect now the only thing I have questions about is the T.P.S. it is a 94 TPS and I tried to change it with a 88 TPS and the throttle shaft is clocked where it wouldn't work anyway. and again it has 4.5 volts at idle and wot its at .95. its like its backwards. yes the wires are correct and I tested the right wires. the only thing what im thinking is that the 88 ECU is not reading the 94 TPS. I cant even adjust the TPS to correct the voltage. This 94 sensor has metal bushings in it so I cant elongate the holes to rotate it and I tried and ruined it so I had to get a new one. Does anybody make some kind of adjuster allowing the sensor to rotate? I was thinking about switching to a 88 throttle body but its different

    That IS backwards, Joe.

Like the MAF sensors, Ford has different TPS sampling rates. The TPS will need to poll the right curb idle and WOT voltages.

EtyhlCat noted the required voltages. Its common for Ford to change these yearly to suit. I thought the whole 1994 unit was different to an 88 due to EGR and upper manifold neck changes. In the first three years of Feedback carbs, the Variable Venturi TPS changed three times, with voltage dropped and that happens s lot with Fords white box suppliers tendering for supply each year.

Spit-balling here... Can you cut the sensor open and turn the guts around, so it would be reversed from how it is now?

the other problem is that flat end of the throttle shaft is almost 90* so by that the throttle will be almost all the way open before it rotates the sensor. But I have been looking for that adapter that allows the TPS to rotate and of the voltage being backwards....

Soooooooooooo! I get the TPS working.... proper volts open and closed I start it and it runs for about 5 sec...............WTF! But when it dies, I hear a buzzing sound? but cant find where. But its over by the MAF. So I grab a screwdriver and hit the solenoid to start it.... same thing, it dies again, so I disconnected the MAF and it starts and runs? but when I plug in the MAF... it dies again. So now im thinking that it has a MAF is it wired correctly at the ECU? is it? Im getting power to the MAF and It is a 88 ECU harness but but if the wires are wrong on the ECU it will affect the air pump divert solenoid and the O2's. And also found the ACT sensor bad (no OHM's) so ordered a new one and the MAF conversion kit from 5.0 resto so I can make sure its done right.
