    Default New power drain

My '85 McLaren (5.0/CFI/auto) has suddenly developed a power drain.

I pulled each fuse individually: all good. Disconnected all of the leads from the starter solenoid.

The drain is thru a ?light blue? 14 GA fusible link that branches into orange and yellow wires perhaps 4" below the starter solenoid.

Anybody have thoughts on what the yeallow and orange wires are feeding?

    TIA

This may or may not help, but according to my '88 EVTM, the yellow wire is your main battery lead to the ignition switch and inside fuse box.

I have an 85 Mustang EVTM. Are you sure that fusible link isn't green? There's a green one that attaches to the solenoid and has a yellow wire that's the alternator shunt and a R/O wire that goes to the ammeter.

If you look at the pic, it's the top left. The only other one I see with a yellow wire is a black fusible link that comes out of the huge mess of them all spliced together on the alt feed. It goes to the ignition switch, hazards, and headlights.

    Maybe your ammeter is fried?
