Default lx with gt front end 86

I have an 86 lx with a new gt nose, I am getting ready to wire in some fog lights, my question is can I tap into the low beams or high beams? not sure which ones I would prefer, would it be able to handle it?
    Thanks

Run them through a relay so they don't pull power from the same circuit. You're just using them as a trigger and the power feed comes straight from the battery. You can actually just pull the trigger source from any 12v switched wire. That way, they would operate independently of the headlights. While you're at it, look into upgrading your current headlights by wiring them through a relay, as well. I need to do that, myself.

worked great thanks for the idea,
would you put a relay on each of the headlights? if you did the headlights?

No need for a relay on each headlamp. Generally one relay for the low beams and a different for the high beams works just fine. Also keep in mind that in most states it is illegal to drive with both the high beams and fog lights or driving lights on at the same time. That is why the fog/driving lights on OEM vehicles switch off when you hit the high beams. With as blinding as most new headlights are today, not sure a Police Officer would notice you over all the others, but just a heads up. Good Luck!
