Default My new '86 LX coupe

Well I finally picked up my new '86 LX coupe 5.0. Yes, this is the one with 9500 miles that was on eBay a few weeks, I called the seller and dealt directly instead of through eBay to save some hassles. The car is in excellent shape and only has a couple of issues. Both muffler/tailpipe assemblys are shot but the H-pipe is ok since it's been replaced due to a recall, and one wheel is discolored from using an acid based cleaner. I've put 8 miles on the car and it drives like it's brand new, simply amazing for an 18 year old car. Pics aren't all that great since I quick took a few before the big snowstorm hits that's on it's way. Oh yeah, the interior is perfect and has been upgraded with Ford Motorsport leather wheel, shift knob, and boot.

SWEET! Keep that thing locked up when its parked at home! What a good one for the car shows.

What a clean and unmolested four eye!
Only 1 Four eye left now and it is a 64 fairlane 2 door post! Think 408W with Griggs GR350 suspension!

I saved some pictures onto my computer a while back....I can't remember the website.

There was an '86 parked in a dealer that apparently had never been sold?

Anyway, it had about 7800 miles.

Is this the car? It looks JUST like it!

    OK!

    Try it now!

The folder was set to "PRIVATE" even though I specifically remember setting it to public.

    All should be well now.

    Sorry about the confusion.

You beat me to it, then!

Don't stop there. What's the story? Where was it? How were the negotiations? Was it really a new/never titled '86?

    Congrats! It's a great car!

    Thanks,

    Story is simple.

I saw it on eBay a little over 2.5 years ago, where I got the pics you have, couldn't afford it then, and figured it was gone for good. Well I've learned that it was on eBay again about 1.5 years ago when the guy I bought it from got it. And I found it on eBay this last time and even posted in the FYI section thinking someone would want it and then decided to go for it.

The car was in CT and negotiations kinda went like this: you want it, here's how much. On the plus side I got a new set of tires, a new car cover(very nice one too), and all the Motorsport stuff inside and out. And I paid less than he did. On the neg side it needs both muffler/tailpipe assemblys due to rusting from the inside out, the only rust on the car anywhere, and it needs a wheel since some idiot tried using an acid based cleaner and the clearcoat on it is stained.

As far as being new/never titled-not true. Counting the original selling dealer this thing has, as far as I can tell so far, been through 4 dealers and at the very least I'm the 3rd owner. I'm still working on getting some history but it's become tough to do since most states have tightened up on releasing personal information from Motor Vehicle departments.

Considering the above info about the number of dealers some might say that the odo has been rolled, I can say the condition matches every car I've had with comparable mileage. There's not even any road spray evident anywhere underneath, I don't think it's even been in the rain. The original tires came with the car and are junk from an age point of view as there's lots of tread left.

    This got long, sorry.
