Hi! I'm LiquidStangs, and I like Fox-body Mustangs.
Way back in ancient history, the first "fast" car I ever drove was my roommate's '84 4-cylinder. Soon after, my first car was a '78 Fairmont that was on its last legs. Mustangs have kinda been in and out of my life since, making occasional and memorable appearances at important moments in life.
After getting my wife an '05 Mustang GT, it was my turn to have a fun car. That turned out to be an '89 Mustang GT rustbucket, which I rescued from the junkyard and coaxed back close to regular driver status. Eventually, the rust on the frame got too bad, and I had to let it go to someone who had the skills to truly restore it.
Even with an aero-nose car, I found FEP to be occasionally helpful. I have some sympathy for the idea of preserving/restoring an old car back to its original form, and most of my work on the '89 was in service of that idea. So, after selling the '89, when I found good fortune in the form of an '85 Mustang GT with T-tops, it was natural to come back and join up.
The car brings back many of the memories of my youth in a way the '89 couldn't. It's built up a bit; even with its warts, it's properly fast. My hope is to fix its problems, restore a bit of its original shine, and keep it on the road for my personal enjoyment until I can't drive anymore.
Thanks for the welcome. I get busy occasionally, and go into lurker mode sometimes, but I plan to stick around, and be helpful when I can. I'll probably be more in need of help, but will try not to be too annoying.
