Engine tuning question popping on deccel

I have megasquirt and getting it dialed in but on decelerations or letting off the gas I get a lot of popping.
so I am wondering what kind of tuning Strategy I should employ. Also I have the Lmr exhaust x pipe and flow masters and was wondering how much the exhaust plays a part in the popping?

What kind of exhaust indeed. I have glass packs and the thing sounds like a gunfight with .38 specials coming off the gas, all the time. Rest of the exhaust is pretty standard 1-5/8ths shorties and orh. It was ok until I put the headers on, now it's insanely loud and poppy....

The popping is due to a lean condition on decel.

Mine was doing it due to leaks around the headers. I had to re-tighten the header bolts a few times and it's been good ever since.
