    Default Window Regulator Spring - SOLVE THE MYSTERY

    I am putting power windows in my 83 Capri T-Top from an 85 Mustang. Their is a provision for a helper window regulator spring - which seems like a super good idea because the power windows in my other car were SUPER slow without them. Where can I get these? Does anyone have a picture of one with a tape measure or something?

    In my experience many of the older window motors were just worn out and weak due to time and use. Many of the NEW replacement motors are much better and more powerful. Voltage to the motors also makes a huge difference in how well they work. So that is always something to look at too. Good luck!

    F/Z power regulators have springs. So, it's not unheard of.

    You are right. For some reason, I wasn't thinking right early this morning. I guess I should have had more coffee before posting. Things that can go wrong when the dogs wake you up several times during the night.

    FYI, Ford changed the mustang motors to high torque type in 1984.
