    Default switching spindles

I'm considering going to 87-93 front brakes on my 85........I already have a set of 88 spindles that are not installed yet.....how difficult are they to install and do you have to compress the front springs to change the spindles?......haven't tackled this before and am a little nervous about working with spring compressors and such........thanks for any information!

    Easy job,
You don’t need to remove the spring, put your jack and/or a stand under the control arm to hold it up when you separate the ball joint.

The most difficult part for me was the brake lines.

I like to thread a cable through the spring so it can't go very far if the jack fails or some other unforeseen event occurs.

As stated before, leave a jack under the control arm. Changing the brake lines can be a PITA, you will also have to turn the tie rods out a bit as the car will be toed in after the swap.
