Default New user, old guy, used to own 81 Capri RS

From way back in 1986, I bought a 1981 Capri RS, with the 85hp straight 6. After replacing it with a 351W, and doing MANY modifications, all with a stock/factory flavor in mind, I finally sold it a few years ago. I had encountered many issues with the car over time, and consider myself a potential resource for folks on this site. I always tried to fix/upgrade the car with a eye on what the factory either should have done, or did do with later models.
Nice to know something like this site exists!!

Welcome; was it a rare 4 speed manual, colored red, perchance?

It was not a red car, more like a sky or powder blue when I got it. I repainted it a midnight blue, so that it would look black under streetlights. It did have a 4-speed, however (well, really a 3 speed, plus overdrive), which was fun, in a way. I would wind the engine up to 4,500 rpm, dump the clutch, and the right rear TRX wheel with its Michelin 190/65R390 tire would spin for about 2 seconds, then the engine would bog. I only did that a few times, as I was worried something would break. But still, the manual was fun!
