    Default Hidden antenna?

I'm deleting the stock antenna on my 79 cobra. I figured it would be easy to find a good hidden aftermarket style, but after reading several reviews, I see a lot of people claim they're not good at all.

Do any of you have one you are happy with? I'm also considering just hiding a stock-style antenna in the fender or under the dash....maybe even inside the cowl area. If you have experience doing that, I'd be interested in hearing how well it works.

My '84 came with one. Not sure the brand but it look like an RV antenna approx 12-18 inches long and is mounted under the car on the passenger side parallel to the sub-frame. Car stereo was upgraded by the original owner probably in 1985. They left the original on the fender and when I get the car painted I will remove and place the antenna delete cover on. It works great with about 100mile range on FM.

Good info, guys! And I never thought of making one but I bet it would work better than some of these aftermarket ones I'm reading about.

    Might check this out. https://www.hamtronics.com/best-hidd...adio-antennas/

Looked like #2 and #4 where excellent options and the price was cheap IMHO. Good Luck!

I'm planning to retrofit a power antenna from a Lincoln on mine. Haven't gotten around to it though.

My old mustang. The previous owner had the standard antenna plugged in a laying horizontal length wise under the side of the center console. Worked fine for me. I live in KC area though with close radio towers.

A power antenna is also being considered. Are you putting it in the factory location or in the rear?
