    Default Stroke 545 Fairmont

    Hi guys,happy father's day.
I'm working on my Boxtop project in the process of building a bottom end.
my question is what trans. cross member to use for a c6 trans? Does a foxbody t5 x-member fit?
I will post more pics and questions.
    Thanks in advance,Oth

Fox body parts fit, but I'd check with Maximum Motorsports to make sure you get the right one for your car and trans combo. Gong to be a monster with that BB for power!

I used a double hump Mustang crossmember. The ends were too wide to fit the stock 1981 Zephyr frame brackets, so I removed the rearward parts of the brackets and bolted fabricated (read: aluminum angle) brackets to the frame and floorpan. Here are some photos: Name: Xmember rt side.jpg

These also left room to get the exhaust past the crossmember without compromising ground clearance.

Mock up the engine last night and run into a potential problem between the v-cover and b-booster, can I eliminate the booster taller v-cover and replace it with wilwood m/c.

X2 on the Hydroboost- as long as you have a power steering pump to power it:

Another brake option is electric power brakes. I'm going that route. Don't have good pics but I'll try and find one to post up. The vacuum pump will be mounted out of site behind the front fender but protected by the fender liner. Not cheap, but you always have working power brakes as long as the electrical system isn't totally dead.
